Workshop on Integrative Modeling of RNA Macromolecular Structures
27–29 August 2018
Molecular Biophysics Unit, Indian Institute of Science, Bengaluru
Sponsored by Indian Academy of Sciences, Bengaluru
Organized by Molecular Biophysics Unit, Indian Institute of Science, Bengaluru
A 3-day workshop on ‘Integrative Modeling of RNA Macromolecular Structures’ will be held at the Indian Institute of Science, Bengaluru from 27 to 29 August 2018.
The focus of the workshop would be to disseminate the knowledge of how to use low-resolution experimental information (such as molecular envelop data (SAXS/WAXS), secondary structure information (SHAPE/Crosslinking), helical content (CD) and sparse NMR constraints (Imino resonances and others) with advanced molecular-modeling techniques such as coarse-graining and free energy minimization methods to arrive at the three dimensional structures of large RNAs (particularly long noncoding RNAs). The workshop will contain multiple modules spanning from basics of RNA structures to advanced modeling methods with both theory and practical sessions.
The instructors of the workshop include: Prof. Samuela Pasquali (Université Sorbonne Paris Cité, Paris), Prof. Dhananjay Bhattacharyya (SINP, Kolkata), Dr Mahavir Singh and Dr Anand Srivatsava (IISc, Bengaluru).
Applications are invited from Master’s and Ph.D. students working in the area of computational and structural biology. Undergraduates interested in structural biology may also apply. Outstation participants will be provided boarding and lodging by the Indian Academy of Sciences along with reimbursement of round-trip bus/train (III AC) fare by the shortest route.
